In addition to teaching at the University of Jaén (Spain), where he coordinates the Area of International Public Law and International Relations, he is currently a lecturer in the Department of International Public Law and International Relations at the University of Jaén (Spain).

His main lines of research are the international law of the sea and the international protection of human rights, and he develops these as Coordinator in the framework of national and international R&D projects, as for example, in:

Advisor
As a professional and expert in public international law and European law, he has been called upon on numerous occasions to provide advice to public entities and institutions, as well as to educate and train officials and diplomatic personnel from various countries in accordance with the guidelines of good practices in public administration and respect for international standards. In this regard, it has provided services in the following areas
- Report for SECEGSA (Sociedad Española de Estudios para la Comunicación Fija a través del Estrecho de Gibraltar) on the legal regime of navigation in the Strait of Gibraltar.
- Technical advice under Article 83 of the LOU for the Public Consortium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Casa Árabe.
- Specialized advice in the design of training programs for the diplomatic corps, among others, from IEESFORD (Instituto de Enseñanza Superior para la Formación Diplomática de El Salvador) and INESDYC (Instituto de Educación Superior Especializado en Formación Diplomática y Consular de República Dominicana).
